FIRST LEVEL OF TWO LOCAL MINIMUM WAGE INCREASES TAKE EFFECT NEXT MONTH
The minimum wage will increase from $7.25 per hour to $8.40 per hour on October 1 in Prince George's County and in Montgomery County. The increases are part of phased in increases that will result in an $11.50 per hour minimum wage in the two counties by October 1, 2017.

CASINO REVENUES AT RECORD LEVEL
Revenue for Maryland's five operating casinos was $80 million last month, breaking a previous record of $77.8 million form four operating casinos in March of this year. The August revenue includes $5.7 million in slots and table games revenue at the new Horseshoe Casino which opened on August 26. .
