The same day the update was emailed, two hotels contacted BCCC to discuss employment opportunities for the graduates at their properties. STATE HOTEL SWIMMING POOLS AND SPAS REGULATION REVISIONS UPDATE The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), has hosted two work sessions where a wide range of possible revisions to the regulations were reviewed and discussed. Details on the work session outcomes will follow ASAP. CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS IN HOTELS PROPOSED AT MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL The bill requires hard wired carbon monoxide alarms in a central location outside of each sleeping area or inside of each guest room, or within 25 feet of each carbon monoxide producing fixture/device unless there is a centralized alarm system. The proposal applies to hotels with more than 16 sleeping rooms. PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER HUMAN TRAFFICKING BILLS The County Council's Public Safety and Fiscal Management Committee will meet on October 3 to consider bills that would ban hourly rentals of hotel rooms and to require hoteliers to provide training to employees on how to identify human trafficking activities and victims.
