GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION UPDATE
The 434th session of the Maryland General Assembly started on January 9th and will end on April 7th. During the Session, MH&LA will review every bill introduced to determine potential impact on the lodging industry and will aggressively advance industry positions on those bills that are actively considered.
POST LABOR DAY SCHOOL START LEGISLATION UPDATE
Final recommendations from a State Task Force on a Post Labor Day School Start for Maryland Public Schools are now expected to be sent to the Governor and Legislative Leaders in February 2014 instead of June 2014. This will allow the General Assembly to address this issue in the current Session.

Patrick recently wrapped up two years of service as Chair of the MH&LA Board of Directors. Under Patrick’s leadership, the Board adopted a new Strategic Plan, a new Vision and a new Mission; all of which will help transform MH&LA from a good association to a great association.

VISIT BALTIMORE EXPECTS 2014 TO BE A “BANNER YEAR” FOR TOURISM
