BALTIMORE CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER HUMAN TRAFFICKING ORDINANCE
As proposed, the ordinance requires registration of all hotels in the City; prohibits short term (less than half day) sleeping room rentals, requires all hotel employees to be trained on how to identify human trafficking activities and victims; and requires certification that all employees have been trained.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER MANDATED PAID SICK LEAVE BILL
The Council has set a public hearing on the local ordinance for January 29, 2015. Earlier this year, state legislation on this same issue was introduced in both houses of the General Assembly but following public hearings none of the the bills were reported from Committee.
