For more information, including Award Nomination Forms go to APPEALS COURT NIXES NLRB RECESS APPOINTMENTS A U.S. Court of Appeals has ruled that President Obama's appointments to the National Labor Relations Board last year violated the Constitution. The decision, if upheld, casts doubt on the validity of hundreds of NLRB decisions. The Administration will appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court. revPAR PROJECTED TO REACH PRERECESSION LEVELS Speakers at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit predict the industry is on the way to performance levels reached in 2007 as demand continues to exceed supply. STR predicts revPAR will rise 5.7% in 2013 and 6% in 2014. PKF Hospitality Research predicts revPAR growth of 5% to 6% in 2013. FREE MH&LA NETWORKING EVENT AT MARYLAND LIVE! LAWSUIT SEEKING TO OVERTURN GAMBLING EXPANSION VOTE IS DISMISSED A lawsuit seeking to overturn gambling expansion in Maryland has been rejected. Lawsuit filers argued a majority of all registered voters in the state needed to approve the proposal, not just a majority of people who voted on the ballot question in November. The judge found that to be an "absurdly high standard". US TRAVEL ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES NEW CAMPAIGN The U.S. Travel Association has launched a new multiyear advocacy/awareness campaign --  -- with research on the benefits of travel to wellness, relationships, personal growth and education as well as travel's positive impact on the economy and businesses' bottom line.
