The only places in America where gas prices are currently higher are Hawaii California and New York. The all-time record for gas prices in Washington D.C. was $4.21 a gallon in May 2011. POLL SUGGESTS SUMMER TOURISTS WILL RETURN TO THE NEW JERSEY BEACHES A recent poll reports that 77% of regular Jersey Shore vacationers expect to spend at least as much time on New Jersey beaches this year as last. The poll doesn’t indicate whether they will skip communities hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy – generally those to the north – in favor of  those in South Jersey. OCEAN CITY HOTEL-MOTEL-RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION EXPO IS NEXT MONTH The 39th Annual Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association Trade Expo is March 3 and  4, 2013 at the Ocean City Convention Center. This year's Expo has the largest number of exhibitors ever.  For more  details, go to HEARINGS SCHEDULED ON POST LABOR DAY SCHOOL OPENING LEGISLATION A Senate Committee hearing is set for March 14 on SB 963 which establishes a Task Force to study a post Labor Day start date for Maryland public schools.
